District Development Commissioner Shopian, Manzoor Ahmad Qadri, today chaired a meeting to review implementation of various schemes being executed by Rural Development Department in the district.Assistant Commissioner Development, Chief Planning Officer, Block Development Officers and other concerned attended the meeting.The meeting discussed various ongoing developmental works under RDD in detail. It was given out that during the current fiscal Rs.9.03 crore were spent on various projects under MGNREGA, while as out of 990 works taken up 703 have been completed and work on rest is under progress.While reviewing the status of the projects taken up under convergence, the DDC directed the concerned to work with added zeal so that the set targets are achieved well in time. He said schemes like MNREGA and IAY are meant to create durable assets in the far flung areas and provide livelihood to the down trodden.
