District Development Commissioner, Ramesh Kumar chaired a meeting with the members of State Advisory Board for the Development of Gujjars and Bakerwals here today.During the meeting it was informed that the members of the Board would identify various developmental works under RDD, PHE and PDD sectors so that the action plan of the same can be prepared and submitted to higher authorities for further action.In the meeting, the members of the board apprised the DDC of various issues pertaining to welfare of the community and laid stress on improving the condition of Gujjar Bakerwal Hostel.
DDC informed the members that various short term skill development courses are underway in all the ITI's of the district for ST youth under SCA to TSP for the year 2016-17. He further said that free coaching to IAS/KAS aspirants from ST community will be provided in which assistance for books and boarding/lodging will be provided.DDC Kathua urged the members to help disseminate awareness among the youth so that eligible candidates can avail maximum benefit from these programmes.Among others officers from PHE, PDD, Rural Development and District Information Officer were present in the meeting.
