“Women's participation in nation-building is an important ingredient in achieving an equitable, peaceful and more prosperous society for greater social, economic and political stability”, asserted Union Minister of State for Development of North Eastern Region, Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Dr. Jitendra Singh while addressing a gathering after inaugurating modern ICT laboratory in Government Girl Higher Secondary School Reasi.Speaking on the occasion, the Union Minister exhorted upon the students to develop a strong passion and enthusiasm for computer learning to compete in the present era of knowledge explosion. He said that the government is keen to facilitate the students with every modern facility so that they are developed as an asset for the nation. “The onus of building a strong nation lies on the shoulders of young minds and it is our firm resolution to nurture these future generations in a best possible way”, he asserted.The Union Minister was accompanied by Minister of State for Finance and Planning Ajay Nanda, District Development Commissioner Reasi Ravinder Kumar, General Manager Salal Power Station A.M Ansari, Chief Engineer M.G. Ghai besides other senior officers.The Union Minister also inaugurated Modern Dental section at district hospital (DH) Reasi which was raised out of his MPLAD.

Meanwhile, the Union Minister handed over dustbins to the Reasi Municipality for promoting Swachh Bharat Abhiyan besides distributing blankets among the poor people.Later, the Union Minister inaugurated up gradation work of Dhyangarh-Thanpal 2.5 km long road which will imrove connectivity in various areas including Thanpal, Dharan, Thakrakote, Jhandi, Baldano and adjoining villages besides serving as an alternate link for all villages of tehsil Mahore, Arnas and Thuroo apart from main Reasi-Mahore road.It is pertinent to mention here that the a total of Rs.130 lakh are being expended by NHPC for complete up-gradation of Thanpal road and over Rs.29 lakh have been utilized  for construction of building for ICT lab under CSR.District President BJP Reasi Kuldeep Raj Dubey, State Convener Swachh Bharat Abhiya Bhupinder Singh, Sarpanch Raman Kumar, Joginder Singh also raised some issues pertaining to posting of doctors, fencing of District Hospital and upgradation of main hospital road.
