District Development Commissioner Shopian, Manzoor Ahmad Qadri, today convened a meeting to discuss modalities for implementation of Tribal Sub Plan (TSP) for overall development of tribal population in the district.ACD, CPO, District/Sectoral officers and other concerned attended the meeting. The meeting was informed that under Special Central Assistance district Shopian has got Rs. 10 crore for development of villages with predominant tribal population as Model Cluster Villages replete with all modern amenities.It was given out that four villages namely Amshipora, Saidpora Payien, Chaki Mirzapora and Chaki Shamshipora have been identified to be developed as Model Cluster Villages.
The villages are home to more than two thousand tribal population and Departments like Education, R&B, PHE, Health, Irrigation, Horticulture and Animal Husbandry would be involved in implementation of the plan.On the occasion, the DDC directed the officers to prepare a Detailed Project Report in due consultation with the local residents of these villages for effective implementation of the plan and submit the same by January 25, 2017 for necessary action.He also directed ACD to identify at least 300 educated unemployed youth so that skill development training can be imparted to them, besides prepare a list of 30 graduates or postgraduates who have an inclination towards competitive exams so that free coaching can be imparted to these aspirants under the Tribal Sub plan.
