District Election Officer (Deputy Commissioner) Ganderbal, Tariq Hussain Ganai, today convened a meeting to finalize arrangements for 7th National Voters’ Day celebrations in the district.ACR, CEO, Tehsildars, District Officers, EROs, AEROs and other concerned attended the meeting.The DEO stressed on coordination for successful conduct of programmes aimed at celebration of the Day on January 25, 2017. He said that observing the Day plays an important role in creating awareness among the masses about registration and participation in electoral process.He asked the Tehsildars to organize programmes like debates, painting and quiz competitions and said that this year the Day will be observed under the theme ‘Empowering Young and Future Voters’.It was given out that awareness rallies shall also be held at tehsil and district levels, besides necessary training shall also be imparted to Booth Level Officers (BLOs) by the EROs and AEROs.
