Several members today took part in the discussion on Demands for Grants for Finance Department including Public Enterprises in Legislative Assembly today.Initiating the discussion, Qamar Hussain appreciating the Minister for increasing old age pension from Rs 200 to Rs 1000 strongly advocated for ensuring timely release of old age pension.Asking for improvement in the labour rights laws, he said that laborers should be paid wages on time. He also said that concrete steps need to be taken to curb menace of child labour to maintain social security of people. He also demanded for a cultural office to be established in his constituency to promote and preserve diverse culture of the area.Vikar Rasool Wani said that unemployment is one of the major challenges in the State and requires immediate and concrete measures to address this growing concern. He advocated for exploring private sector avenues to generate employment for the youth.He pleaded for regularization of casual labourers and increasing their wages and called for timely issuance of Labour Cards. He also advocated for involving local unemployed youth in various development projects like the Banihal, Ramban railway line and highway project. He also called for providing banking faculties in far-flung areas.Jewan Lal complimented the Minister for various reforms in the fiscal management. He appreciated the initiative of making payments online. 

He said that concrete measures need to be taken to tackle unemployment in the state. He suggested that unemployed youth should be registered and monthly stipend should be provided to them. He asked for making provisions to accommodate local youth in the ongoing private projects.He demanded for a constituency wise ceiling and fixing of funds from the Prime Minister's Development Package. He stressed on the need for organizing cultural programs and improving infrastructure for cultural activities to provide a platform for talented youth.   Mian Altaf Ahmad pleaded for early clearance of pending liabilities under SDRF from 2014. He asked for opening of new bank branches in his constituency Kangan.He said that State Finance Corporation should take steps to generate employment and create awareness about various schemes among masses. He said that there is a rise in the child labour and this needs to be addressed on priority. He further said there is need for encouraging local artists at district levels to promote and preserve culture of the State.Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen pleaded for completion of pending construction works in his constituency in time bound manner.   He also pleaded for making Doodhpathri Developmental Authority functional and releasing funds for the same.He also said that issue of unemployment should be addressed on humanitarian basis.Raja Manzoor Ahmad said that Government should take measures to make the masses aware about the central and state government schemes. He pleaded for early release of GP fund and regularization of casual labourers.

He advocated for the registration of border area unemployed youth and establishment of sub-cultural office in Karnah. He also pleaded for upgradation of health infrastructure in his constituency.Sat Paul Sharma advocated for providing compensation for crops damaged in border areas. He said that Government should take concrete measure to maintain social security. He also advocated for the release of funds for NHM, Anganwadi and Asha workers.Usman Abdul Majeed advocated for establishment of Gurez Development Authority and timely release of funds for development of Wullar Lake. He said there is a need for proper implementation of Social Security schemes. He further said the Government has taken measures to complete public welfare schemes in a time bound manner. He also said that concrete measures should be taken to tackle with the issues of unemployment in the state.Pawan Kumar Gupta advocated for implementation of power bonds and said that measures need to be taken to improve the tourist influx in the state.   He said that Government should improve allocation in health and education sector.He lauded the initiative of construction of drug de-addiction center and cultural auditorium in his constituency. He also asked for the implementation of e-tendering in letter and spirit.Shah Mohammad Tantray advocated for regularization of casual labourers and timely release of their wages. He said that unemployment is one of the major issues in the state and concrete measures are required to tackle it.
