The Minister for Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs Choudhary Zulfkar Ali today said the allegations regarding registration of ineligible persons by dealers under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) would be thoroughly investigated.Responding to a point raised by legislator Naresh Kumar Gupta in this regard in the Legislative Council today, the Minister said if the allegations are found true, the registration of the ineligible persons and the dealer would be cancelled.He also informed the House that so far 1.90 lakh connections have been provided to Below Poverty Line (BPL) families in the State under PMUY.The Legislator earlier raised apprehensions that some errant dealers have provided gas connections to undeserving people under PMUY.Meanwhile, the Members today raised various issues of public importance during the Zero Hour in the house.Vibodh Gupta called for early restoration of essential services in Rajouri and Poonch disrupted due to recent snowfall. He also sought introduction of Pahari language in school curriculum, besides   filling up the vacant posts of Rehbar-e-Taleem (ReT) teachers.Shahnaz Ganie urged the Government to look into the allegations regarding alleged manipulation in cross-LoC trade adding that the practice should immediately be stopped, if found true. She also stressed the need to encourage the youth to participate in the trade adding this would provide them job opportunities.

Sajad Ahmad Kichloo drew the attention of the government towards    thousands of passengers stranded in Jammu due to the closure of Doda-Kishtwar and Jammu-Srinagar highways. He called for providing them free food adding that the Government should take adequate steps to ease their unintended stay.Surinder Choudhary demanded immediate release of the selection list for the post of Jail Wardens advertised in 2005.Dr Bashir Ahmad Veeri sought early restoration of essential supplies, power and water supply in snow bound areas. He also called for taking immediate steps to restore the roads in these areas.Sardar Charanjeet Singh demanded black topping of road in Nanak Nagar area.Ramesh Arora drew the attention of the chair towards absence of Ministers in the Upper House.He urged the Government to ensure presence of at least   one Cabinet Minister in the Upper house adding that there is a need to maintain the sanctity of House.Taking cognizance of the matter, the chairperson (Shehnaz Ganaie) adjourned the House for five minutes.
