Punjab Governor and UT Administrator, Sh. V.P. Singh Badnore has called for a literature fest which should be entirely devoted to the defence personnel.Expressing these views while unveiling the book ‘Be Lag Lapet’ –written by Sh. Ravinder Kishore Sinha, MP, Rajya Sabha at Punjab Raj Bhawan, Sh. Badnore urged literatures’, authors and publishers that defence personnel too have their life time experiences to be thrown open to the public, readers and enthusiasts. Defence personnel should share their defence related experiences which can be a source of enlightenment and these exclusive literature fests are ideal platforms.The Governor also stressed upon the role of authors who plays a vital role in the change the ideology of society. “Young writers should come for their expressive vision and also for the upliftment of the socio-cultural values thereby changing the mindset in the larger public interest.  “ Sh. Sinha’s work enlivens the history of four decades and also act as mirror to society”, said Sh. Badnore. 

Highlighting a few aspects of the book, noted journalist Mukesh Bhardwaj said, the book has touched various burning issues like alcoholism and black money. He said Sh. Sinha’s writings of 67 chapters will help readers to unearth many myths and disbeliefs which are hindrances in nation’s developments.While addressing the gathering, author and MP (Rajya Sabha) RK Sinha said, “On the basis of my five decades of journalistic writings and experiences, meaningful and worth reading writings are only possible with honesty and neutrality. An ideal writer must be honest, neutral and committed in his approach as freedom of media is very important for a successful democratic set up”, he added.Also present on the occasion were Ram Bahadur Roy, a noted writer and President, Indira Gandhi International Cultural Centre, New Delhi, Virender Singh Chauhan, Vice President, Haryana Granth Academy, Mayor Asha Jaiswal, Former MP Satyapal Jain and other senior bureaucrats of UT and other states.
