24 halqas, villages of Devsar covered under SBM: Abdul Haq Khan

Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Abdul Haq Khan today said that 24 halqas/villages were taken up under SBM in Devsar constituency.Giving the details, Minister informed the house that 8 villages were taken up under SBM scheme in Devsar block at a cost of 61.50 lakh, 5 halqas/villages in Kund at a cost of 15.90 lakh, 5 in Vessu at a cost of Rs 30.78 lakh and 6 in Qazigund at a cost of Rs 41.10 lakh.He further said that criteria for selection of beneficiaries is baseline survey 2012 in consonance with the targets and preference is given to AAY/BPL category families.Besides, priority is given to such villages where the achievement is more than 80 percent so that these villages can be declared as open defection free, Minister said.The Minister was replying to a question raised by Mohammad Amin Bhat.
