Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal today said it had now become clear that AAP Convenor Arvind Kejriwal wanted to become chief minister of Punjab in order to take Punjab waters to Haryana and Delhi. Talking to newsmen after addressing an election meeting at the grain market in Ghubaya as well as other villages, Mr Badal said the manner in which Kejriwal had made canon fodder of the AAP Punjab leadership including Bhagwant Mann, was proof of his intentions. "Kejriwal has ensured that the entire senior leadership of AAP will be finished in the elections. He hopes by doing so he will be able to try for the CM's chair. But he does not know that he and his party have been completely exposed in Punjab and will not be able to cross the ten figure mark".
Mr Badal said as far as Bhagwant Mann was concerned, he was only good for a few jokes. "He does not even know which village is where. He will never come back to this area after the polls. He can never deliver on development. His sole aim is to defeat your own government". Speaking about the Congress, he said the party was in such a state that it had been unable to even announce a candidate from the constituency. He said this was because the Congress party was remote controlled from Delhi and the Pradesh Congress president did not have any power. He also asked the people to tell whether any development had occurred in the constituency during Congress rule. "I on the other hand have brought in planned development in the entire area", he added. The SAD president said his commitment to Jalalabad was rock solid. "I have always deliver on all my promises made to you be it establishing an exclusive school and college for girls, to spending Rs 500 crore to make cemented streets in villages to spending Rs 35 crore for a hospital".
He said besides this he had ensured blue cards were given to all eligible families besides other social welfare facilities and even gas cylinders. He said he had even more big plans for his constituency including providing a pucca house to all houseless persons in the constituency.
