Several legislators today participated in the discussion on Motion of Thanks on Governor’s Address in the Legislative Assembly.While initiating the debate, Mr Abdul Majeed Paddar complemented the Government for undertaking various welfare measures for the need-based and holistic development of the State. He said schemes like MGNREGA have been instrumental in lifting the socio-economic profile of the people living in rural and far-flung areas of the State. He said leftover BPL families should be incorporated in PMUY scheme.Shakti Raj Parihar said certain forces are hell bent on vitiating the peaceful environment of the State but it was due to the sustained efforts of the Government that peace was restored. He said adequate funds have been allotted for undertaking various developmental works.Mr Aijaz Ahmad Mir criticized the opposition for repeatedly disrupting the proceedings of the House. He urged the members to adopt positive approach towards finding a lasting solution to address larger political issues in the State. He said it is the moral responsibility of all the political parties to work for their people and mitigate their sufferings. 

He said that Government is serious in implementing Agenda of Alliance for the greater good of the people of the State.Sat Paul Sharma lauded the Government for successfully launching various developmental and welfare schemes across the State. He said it is because of the commitment of the Government that various developmental schemes launched to uplift the socio-economic profile of the State, are being regularly monitored. Sharma also called for holding Panchayat and local body elections across the State. He also lauded Prime Minister, Narendra Modi and former Chief Minister, Mufti Muhammad Sayeed for their approach towards bringing peace and prosperity to the State.Ms Anjum Fazili while referring to the developmental activities in the State lauded the efforts of the Government in working for the betterment of the people. She said the Government is doing every bit to mitigate the sufferings of the people by reaching out to them with various welfare schemes. She also lauded the Government for launching various schemes like Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao, Mufti Muhammad Sayeed Food Entitlement Scheme (MMSFES) and others.Rajeev Jasrotia lauded the coalition Government for undertaking the holistic development of the State. He also projected the demand for giving special compensation as well as reservation to the people living alongside the International Border as well as the Line of Control (LoC).

MY Tarigami called for undertaking steps for finding a lasting solution to ensure peace and prosperity in the State. He also called for giving the forest rights to the tribal community of the State as envisaged in the Forest Act.Mr. Nawang Rigzin Jora while participating in the discussion urged the Government to reach out to the people with the developmental schemes so that they would be benefitted in a true way. He urged the Centre and Sate Government for initiating a dialogue process with all the stakeholders to address Kashmir issue.He also said that there are diverse issues in all the three regions of the State, which need to be tackled, keeping in mind the local sensitivities. He also urged Chief Minster Mehbooba Mufti to felicitate school going girls from Ladakh region, who have recently climbed the Mount Everest.Aga Syed Ruhullah said the Government needs to adopt comprehensive approach and a long term holistic programme for ensuring that all the issues concerning the State all addressed properly.

Javid Hassan Baig while taking part in the debate complimented the Government for undertaking numerous developmental schemes for the border districts of the State. He also lauded former Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed for his visionary approach in dealing with the crucial administrative and political matters of the State.Hakeem Muhammad Yaseen said the Government needs to introspect on their functioning and works efficiently to provide good governance to the people of the State. He also said the Government should also be held accountable for their works so that positive results can be seen on the ground.Engineer Abdul Rashid said besides addressing the developmental issues, the political issues should be addressed on priority. He said that in order to mitigate the sufferings of the people of the State, the long pending vexed Kashmir issue should be resolved.Pawan Kumar Gupta lauded the Government for its approach of launching developmental and welfare schemes and urged the Government to make all possible efforts in bringing change on ground.Bashir Ahmad Dar said that discriminatory politics and the politics of hate should be shunned for the greater good of the State. He said the developmental schemes launched by the current dispensation should reach to the all the areas of the State, especially the left-out northern part of Jammu and Kashmir.

Gulzar Ahmad Wani said the Agenda of Alliance needs to be implemented in its true spirit. He said the Government should hold unconditional dialogue, taking all the stakeholders into consideration.Javid Ahmad Rana said the State is facing challenges due to the polarization across all the regions of the State. He said the Government should adopt holistic approach to take all the shades of opinion along for their socio-economic development. He called for the permanent settlement of nomadic population.GM Saroori said smooth functioning of the various institutions needs proper attention. He also called for implementation of the recommendations of various Committees like Rangarajan, Sageer panel etc. He said it was a dream of Mufti Muhammad Sayeed to make all the regions of the State prosperous. He also called for undertaking construction of Vailoo and Dubijan tunnels, connecting the Chenab and Pir Panchal region with the Kashmir division.
