District Electoral Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner D.S. Mangat said here that A Special room has been set up in room number 404 of district administrative complex as call centre and complaint monitoring control room. A toll free number 1800-180-2051 is installed which is manned by a member of complaints team at all 24 hours. Besides this, complaints could also be lodged through whatsapp Number 9478894788. He said that special software called SAMADHAN has been developed so that anyone can register complaint using their computer or mobile by going to link ceopunjab.nic.in.
Complaints received on phone are noted in a register and then uploaded on Samadhan software and dealt with as needed. Complaints received directly on Samadhan software will be dealt with as required within timed frame provided. Daily update for pending & disposal of complaints will be provided by Dr. Nayan Bhullar, PCS, Assistant commissioner (Griv.) designated as Nodal Officer Grievance SAS Nagar who will give this report to Deputy Commissioner. Minute to minute checking is done by complaints team and nodal officer for prompt disposal of all complaints and further for monitoring for campaigning material like advertisements etc to be used by the candidates for elections. Media Monitoring and Certification committee has been made functional at the 3rd floor of the DAC complex, room no. 445. A Special Team has been formed to monitor Social Media. This cell is functioning for 24 hrs working. Before publishing any advertisement in Electronic & Print Media, prior permission from Media Certification & Monitoring committee is mandatory to obtain by each and every candidate. This cell will be very helpful for controlling misuse of Electronic & Print Media and will also help in controlling misleading by candidates/ political parties, in general public through paid news.
