Union Miinister and Punjab BJP president, Vijay Sampla today stated that the Akali-BJP coalition government in Punjab had ensured development of each and every section of the society. He said that during the last 10 years of the Akali-BJP regime, an unprecedented growth has been witnessed in agriculture, urban and rural development, industries, and health and employment sectors thereby transforming Punjab into an ideal state. “The PM Modi-led NDA government has brought in more than 90 welfare policies during its short term of 30 months and similarly developmental works have been carried out in the state under the leadership of Prakash Singh Badal. Hence only the Akali-BJP coalition has the right to seek votes in Punjab”, he said.Addressing a press conference in Jalandhar, Sampla said that while the coalition leaders were reaching out to people of the state, PPCC chief, Capt. Amarinder Singh was busy enjoying his life. Terming Aam Aadmi Pary as the ‘mother of all corruption’ Sampla said, “Kejriwal has failed to fulfill all the poll promises-CCTV cameras, free Wi-Fi, houses for poor, opening school and colleges etc., he had made to the people of Delhi.
He didn’t even start paper work on the promised projects”. Citing example of Succha Singh Chottepur, Sampla said, “He claimed to end corruption and bring in Swaraj but his own party leaders exposed him. Kejriwal and his coterie are wary of people of Punjab and he doesn’t like to be answerable to them. Instead, he defamed the state’s leadership and hurt the sentiments of people”. “Drugs are openly being used during rave parties in Delhi and Kejriwal has even come up with separate liquor vends for women. On the other hand the Akali-BJP combine has worked towards drug eradication and rehabilitation” he said. The state party chief also stated that the Vijay Sankalp Rath Yatra was drawing huge public support. In response to a query Sampla said that the BJP was a responsible party and was religiously obeying the election code of conduct.
