Minister for PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control Sham Lal Chaudhary today chaired a meeting to review the physical and financial achievements of Department of PHE under various schemes in Jammu division, besides discussing the issues related to ensuing Budget Session at Company Bagh meeting hall here.Secretary PHE, I&FC Department Sanjeev Verma, Director Finance PHE, I&FC Department Mahesh Das, Chief Engineer, PHE Jammu Susheel Aima and other senior officers of the department were present in the meeting.The Minster directed the concerned officers to file precise and accurate answers to the queries raised by the legislators. He also enquired about the actions taken by the department on the issues raised by the legislators in their respective constituencies.
During the meeting, the Minister also instructed the officers to prepare a comprehensive list of land donors who gave their land to the department for creation of public assets and instructed to submit the same to his office at an earliest. The officers were further asked to submit details of vacancies in the department so that they could be forwarded to recruiting agencies for necessary action.The Minister further directed for immediate removal of illegal connections, besides issuing directions for fixing leakages in water pipes.Later, Secretary, PHE, I&FC Department Sanjeev Verma also convened a meeting with the officers of Irrigation & Flood Control department to discuss the pace of de-silting of various canals in Jammu.The Secretary directed the officers to expedite the de-silting works in the canals so that uninterrupted water reaches the agricultural fields. Chief Engineer, I&FC Rajeev Gandotra, Chief Engineer Rawi-Tawi Irrigation Complex HC Jerath and other officers of the department attended the meeting.
