District Development Commissioner Ramban Mohammad Aijaz today convened a meeting to discuss the action plan for sensitizing the stakeholders regarding digital payments and cashless transactions in all economic spheres.During the meeting, various suggestions and ideas were also sought for smooth implementation of the digital payments initiative in the district.The action plan includes district and block level committees for organizing different events and IEC campaigns at all levels to mobilize the general masses towards this new step. The concerned bankers shall assist and deliver technical lectures for public motivation.The meeting was informed that 11 block level committees have been constituted which shall meet fortnightly under the chairmanship of concerned Sub Divisional Magistrate.It was also given out in the meeting that people shall be made aware for Digital Payments Initiative of the Government and introduced apps like UPI (Unified Payment Interface), AEPS (Aadhar Enabled Payment System), e-Wallets and Systems like Micro ATM, POS Devices apart from Internet Banking and use of Debit/Credit Cards.The meeting informed that concerned departments shall distribute posters, pamphlets, banners, slogans and slips at all public places by involving local people, shopkeepers, passers-by, students, NCC cadets, ASHA workers, Anganwadi workers, helpers, ration dealers, religious people, teachers, BLOs, Patwaris, VLWs, GRSs, Chowkidars, Nuberdars etc.The meeting was attended by ACR Vevaik Puri, SDM Gool Mohd Bashir Lone, SDM Banihal Vikas Verma, GM DIC, CPO Uttam Singh, DIO and members of civil society.
