The Secretary of Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee, Balwinder Kaur Nardu on Thursday joined Aam Aadmi Party in presence of AAP state Convener, Gurpreet Singh Waraich and Candidate from Ghanaur, Anu Randhawa at Chandigarh.Hailing from Ghanaur, Balwinder belongs to a veteran Congress family. The Grandfather of Balwinder, Late. Sr. Ujagar Singh was a close aide of former President of India Giani Jail Singh. She joined congress in 1993 and was made vice president of Punjab Youth Congress. He was elected as vice president of Zila Parishad in 1994. In 2009, she was made Dist. President of Mahila Congress Patiala.
Addressing the press Balwinder leveled sexual harassment allegation against congress candidate from Ghanaur, Madal Lal Jalalpur. “Jalalpur exploited me sexually for 12 years on the pretext of marriage promise but end up ignoring me. I conveyed it to the personal assistant of Captain Amrinder Singh and tried to meet Parneet Kaur on the issue but to no avail.” said Balwinder.Welcoming Balwinder in party fold, Waraich said that she remained a dedicated worker of congress since she joined congress but the policy of Congress to ignore grass route level workers forced her to resign from Congress and joined AAP. He said that Balwinder has a strong base in Ghanaur area that will definitely help to AAP candidate Anu Randhawa.
