In a bid to promote tourism in the royal city of Kapurthala, the Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today said that the state government would make all out efforts to give facelift to the Kanjli wetland.Interacting with the people during Sangat Darshan program here today, the Chief Minister said that the state government was committed to develop this spot as an ideal tourist destination. He said that Kanjli wetland was blessed with bounty of natural beauty and has a huge potential to be developed as a favourite tourist spot. Mr. Badal said that the state government was already working on a proposal so that the prospects of tourism could be boosted in this district, which would also generate new opportunities of employment for the residents of nearby villages.The Chief Minister said that the state government would take every possible step to restore the pristine glory of this tourist destination because this place has a lot of untapped potential to attract the people. Mr. Badal said that this place would be developed in such a manner so that the tourists could get the proper facilities along with a pleasant experience at this place during their visit. He said that concerted efforts were a foot for showcasing this destination at the national as well as international level.The Chief Minister was accompanied by Akali leader Mr. Paramjit Singh Pamma, his Special Principal Secretary Mr. KJS Cheema, Deputy Commissioner Mr. Gurloveleen Singh Sidhu and Senior Superintendent of Police Mr. Rajinder Singh.
