In a bid to further promote Industrialization in the state, the Punjab Cabinet today allowed the plot holders of Goindwal Industrial Complex falling in the size upto 8000 square yard categories, who were allotted plots on or before December 31, 1995, to make payment of dues of Principle cost and enhanced land cost with 10% simple annual interest. A decision to this effect was taken in the meeting of Council of Ministers chaired by the Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal here at Chief Minister’s Office, this morning. Disclosing this here today, a spokesperson of the Chief Minister’s Office said that the under this package, component of penal and compounding interest has been waived off. Apart from above, defaulter allottees including those of cancelled allotments where any sort of construction/ production exists have been given option to make payment of their dues in lumpsum within 90 days of intimation or in two equated half yearly instalments to be due by June 30, 2017 and December 31, 2017 with upto date interest. Besides, concerned plot holds would also ensure to bring their units into production within one year effective from date of revival of this package.
It may be recalled that earlier the said package was provided to the defaulters of Goindwal Industrial Complex, who were allotted plots upto 1000 square yards on or before December 31, 1995 and only few plot holders had availed the benefit of this relief. Now on the persistent demand of the plot holders who could not avail this benefit earlier, the Cabinet allowed to extend similar concession to the plot holders having plot upto 8000 square yards.
The Cabinet also decided to enhance the monthly honorarium of Mid Day meal workers by Rs 500 from Rs 1200 to Rs 1700. With this decision nearly 42000 Mid Day meal workers would be benefitted across the state.With an aim to encouraging the Police personnel and bring efficiency in the working of the Police department, the Cabinet also gave nod for creating separate dying cadre for 393 officials who were promoted as Head Constable under 10% quota of C-2.
The Cabinet also gave approval for creation of five new posts of Personal Assistant in the office of Punjab Public Service Commission after surrendering five posts of Senior Scale Stenographer by the Commission. The Cabinet also gave go ahead for amendment in Second provision under Rule-5 of Punjab Civil Service (General and Common Conditions of Services) Rules, 1994 to give benefit of age relaxation in upper age limit of upto 45 years to the employees of the Boards, Corporations, Commissions and other authorities covered under state government, on the pattern of Punjab Government employees.In order to impart quality Higher Education to the students hailing from rural and economically backward areas of the state, the Cabinet also gave nod for taking over Sant Baba Sewa Singh Memorial Khalsa College (Girls), Guru Ka Khuh Mune (Nurpur Bedi), District Rupnagar as Government College. Pertinently, at present about 450 girls were being imparted education in Arts, Commerce and Science Courses in this college.
