Amid a cash crunch across the country post-demonetisation, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Thursday made payment at a roadside tea stall to drive home the convenient use of cashless transactions even for small purchases.Khattar arrived at a tea shop near the bus stand in Karnal town, nearly 125 km from here, and ordered tea. Later, he used his mobile phone to make online payment for the hot beverage."He also enquired from the shopkeeper if he had received the amount in his account, to which the latter replied in the affirmative," a Chief Minister's Office spokesman said.He said the shopkeeper told Khattar that customers at his shop were offered the facility of making e-payments through mobile phones or a swipe machine.Khattar told customers present at the tea stall to avail of the benefits of cashless transactions by using debit/credit cards, e-wallets and other modes of e-payment.
