Member Legislative Assembly Jammu West Sat Sharma today chaired the second annual meeting of Rogi Kalyan Samiti of Government Hospital Sarwal to review the functioning of the institution. The meeting was informed that about 17905 outdoor and 711 indoor patients were treated in the month of November while 789 minor and 94 major surgeries were successfully conducted during the period at the said hospital.It was also informed that a total expenditure of Rs 2142403 was incurred by the institution while revenue to the tune of Rs 25,193 was generated from April to November 2016. 

Various decisions were taken during the meeting to improve the functioning of the institution  which include  purchase of new equipment, installation of CCTV cameras  inside the hospital complex, repair  of Dental chairs and setting up of Biometric attendance system.The MLA also sanctioned an Ambulance costing Rs 3.67 lakh for the hospital out of his Constituency Development Fund (CDF). He also said that the work for construction of a new blood bank has also been approved by the department and soon a DPR (Detailed Project Report) will be prepared for the same.MLA also interacted with the patients and took stock of the facilities provided to them. He stressed on maintaining cleanliness in the Hospital premises to promote Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan and said that adequate steps will be taken to provide better medicare to the patients.Chief Medical Officer, Dr Robinder Khajuria, Dr Renu Sharma, Medical Superintendent Sarwal Hospital, Dr Deepak Sharma, Deputy Medical Superintendent, Dr Kamal Kishore, senior officers from various departments and members attended the meeting.
