Fisheries Department employees Tuesday staged a protest outside District Development Commissioner Kulgam office demanding immediate report about the killing of their colleague Asadullah Kumar to be made public without any delay.   Asadullah Kumar working as a guard in the Fishery Department was killed when Army had laid a siege around Tchancer village of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district. The police had claimed that Kumhar died in cross firing between government forces and militants, a claimed refuted by the family. The protesting employees who carried placards and banners seeking justice and stern punishment to the killers told CNS that Kumhar was admitted by Army in the District Hospital Kulgam in semi-nude condition. “We failed to understand who had removed his clothes and why he was brought to hospital in semi-nude condition. This matter should be immediately probed and report be made to public,” they said.Pertinently, authorities have ordered a Magisterial probe into the killing of Kumar.Meanwhile, Director Fisheries R.P. Singh Bali who visited the slain employee’s family at their Mundhal village also urged upon the government to conduct a fair probe into the killing of Asadullah Kumar. The Director while expressing sympathies with the bereaved family handed over a cheque of Rs 50,000 to them. (CNS)
