Punjab New & Renewable Energy, Revenue & Information & Public Relations Minister  Bikram Singh Majithia has said that with the success of Punjab Farmer & Investor friendly Solar Investment Policy it is now being implemented by the centre government for setting up solar power plants in other states. He said that Punjab has set an example by making Farmer & Investor friendly Solar Investment Policy for setting up solar power plants.Mr. Majithia was here to inaugurate a 42 MW Solar Power Plant installed by leading company in Solar infrastructure  Punjllyod at Gamiwal Hakamwala village in District Mansa with Rs 309 Crore in 216 Acres. He said that Punjab Government in the leadership of Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal framed a policy to give maximum benefit to our farmers as well as investors.Mr. Majithia said that farmers joined hands and came forward from the areas where they were face problems of water logging or baron lands to lease their land to the investors for setting up solar power plants. He said that now the farmers who have leased their land for solar power plants have an assured annual income of Rs 50 thousand per acre with 5 percent increase annually. He further said that farmers also do not have any threat of any crop damage due to any natural calamities.

Mr. Majithia said that Punjab has become the fastest growing state in setting Solar Power plants comparative to other big states in area such as Madhya Pardesh or Rajasthan. He said that Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi has also awarded Punjab for best capacity building in Solar Power Generation and Punjab also have the honour of setting world's largest single rooftop solar power plant at Dera Baba Jaimal Singh Beas, Amritsar.He further said that Punjab has already set up 1050 MW Solar Power Generation capacity with an investment of Rs 8000 Crores and has setup a target of generating 4200 MW Solar Power with an investment of Rs 30000 Crores by the year 2022 or before.Mr. Majithia commenting on the Punjab Pardesh Congress President Mr. Amrinder Singh said that during Captain led Congress regime in the year 2002 to 2007 no efforts were made for creating any investor or farmer friendly policy or creating any job opportunities. He said that now due to elections Congress is making fake promises of giving government jobs youth of every house but people are fully aware of such people who are trying to befool them for petty politics. He said that it's on record that Captain put a complete ban on government recruitments and levied electricity bills on farmers.

Mr. Majithia said that on the other hand SAD-BJP Government not only attracted big corporate houses for investment in the state but also made citizen welfare polices. He further said that SAD-BJP government launched various Welfare Schemes such as Shagun Scheme, Atta Dal Scheme and various other such schemes which are successfully running. He said that during SAD-BJP rule Guru Gobind Singh Refinery, Bathinda, Two International Airports, Domestic Airports, World Class Health Care infrastructure, World Class education Institutes and building and Roads infrastructure has been developed at a great pace.Mr. Majithia said that Badal Government is providing free electricity to farmers, 200 Unit free electricity to SC/BC communities and Cheapest electricity to the traders.Mr. Majithia also appealed to the people of Budhlada to make SAD-BJP Candidate Dr. Nishan Sing victorious in the coming elections as Shiromani Akali Dal has given a young educated candidate to the people.Others prominent present on the occasion included Mr. Balwinder Singh Bhunder MP, Dr. Nishan Singh SAD-BJP Candidate Budhlada, Mr. Jagdeep Singh Nakai Ex. MLA, Mr. Rajat Seksaria CEO & Business Head Punjlloyed Infrastructure limted, Mr. amit Gupta Head Corporate Affairs and Leagal Punjlloyed Infrastructure limted, Mr. Kulwant Singh Vice Chairman PEDA, Mr. Balour Singh Director PEDA, Mr. Varinder Kumar Sharma DC, Mansa, Mr. Mukhwinder Singh Bhullar SSP, Mansa and other political personalities of the area.
