Minister for Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Choudhary Zulfkar Ali today said the government is committed to redress grievances and sufferings of the people living in far flung areas by extending all basic services at their doorstep.He said the Government is fully aware of the problems and issues of the people in the rural area and steps are being taken to mitigate them in shortest possible time.Addressing a public grievances redress camp at Kotranka, the Minister said many mega developmental projects have been launched by the government and tangible change is visible on the ground as far as the developmental scenario of state is concerned. He said the Government’s aim is that the departmental officers should reach out to the people and address their issues at their doorsteps. “Communication gap between citizens and the administration is biggest hurdle in the process of development and must be mitigated,” he said.

Zulfkar Ali also took stock of infrastructural and developmental needs of the area and directed the officers for necessary action on various issues of immediate concern.He also held  public grievances redressal camps at  Daraj, Phalni and Dandote wherein he was apprised of the problems being faced by the people which pertained to road projects, drinking water shortage in  various villages, flood protection works, protection works in sinking and sliding areas, immediate disbursement of pending wages under MGNREGA, awareness camps through horticulture , agriculture and other allied departments, improvement of interior road network, payment of land compensation to owners of land acquired for various roads.The Minister gave a patient hearing to the demands of the people and asked the concerned officers to make all possible efforts to redress their grievances. He also said that Darhal constituency comprises of the most backward areas of the State and all out efforts are being made by the Government to improve the living conditions of the people in the area.Responding to the demands of the people, Zulfkar Ali said Rs 4 crore have been sanctioned for establishment of Indoor Stadium at Kotranka. Work on Kotranka-Khawas road will start soon and an amount of Rs 76 crore has been sanctioned for the same.

The Minister also said that the macadamization work of Rajouri-Kotranka road will be completed before March 2017 besides the process for the establishment of Municipal Committee at Kotranka is also underway.He said far reaching reforms are being introduced in all the departments to improve service delivery system and expedite development projects. He said the field functionaries of all the line departments have been directed to work with transparency, accountability and honesty for public welfare.Director FCS&CA, G S Chib, Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Mumtaz Choudhary, District Programme Officer ICDS Nazir Ahmad Sheikh, Executive Engineers of different departments beside all the district officers accompanied the Minister during the visit.
