Governor N. N. Vohra has lauded Dr. Sharada M. Potukuchi, Associate Professor, Department of Biotechnology, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, for winning the APSI International Plant Scientist Award 2016 for her outstanding contribution and research in the field of Plant Tissue Culture and Genetic Engineering at the impressive Inaugural Ceremony of the APSI Scientists Meet and “ National Conference on Emerging Trends in Biotechnology for Agricultural, Medicine and Environment” which was recently held at Jodhpur. This Award carries a citation and a Gold Medal.Dr. Potukuchi was also awarded another Gold Medal for presenting the best paper, titled “Modulation of Secondary Metabolite Production through Cell Manipulative Approaches in Selected Medicinal Plants.”In his congratulatory message, the Governor has wished her continuing high successes in all her future endeavours. He has also asked the Vice Chancellor to organize an appropriate function to honour this brilliant Faculty member.
