Under the patronage of Her Excellency Sheikha Lubna Bint Khalid Al Qasimi, Minister of State for Tolerance and President of Zayed University, Professor Reyadh AlMehaideb, Vice President of Zayed University, inaugurated the Alumni Academic Achievement Forum yesterday (Monday) at Zayed University in Dubai campus.As part of the 2016 Innovation Week activities, which aims to promote progressive ideas and encourage a culture of excellence for greater progress of the country, the event came to honor Zayed University graduates of bachelor’s and master’s degree holders, who completed their studies in the UAE and abroad.Organized by the Alumni Affairs Office, the one-day forumrecognized Zayed University graduates, who are nowprominent decision makers with great leadership and communication skills, for the strategic role they played in their esteemed areas of expertise and for their valuable accomplishments made to achieve the aspirations of the UAE wise leadership.At the outset of the forum, Professor AlMehaideb said in his keynote speech: “Zayed University graduates are sons and daughters of the late founding father Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan and they are true ambassadors to their country in the UAE, region, and world.”
Professor AlMehaideb also conveyed regards and best wishes on behalf of Her Excellency Sheikha Lubna, who always encourages student support and advisory services that can help students to make the most of their academic and social life at Zayed University and calls to strengthen and reinforcethe close bond between members of Zayed University community, its students, and graduates to achieve a culture of excellence.He also added: “Zayed University stands proud towards achievements and accomplishments attained by various batches of university students, who frequently visit Zayed University to give back to their community in many different ways.Zayed University’s main goals are to ensure world-class services and facilities, high-quality innovative academic services, and growing program of event to fulfil the university’s mission, prepare a qualified cadre of highly skilled students, and bring alumni together to celebrate and collaborate.”The forum witnessed various panel discussions led by successful Zayed University graduates. Her Excellency Hessa EssaBuhumaid, Assistant Director General for Government Services at the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs and The Future, gave a keynote speech that focused on the UAE’s vision 2021. Buhumaid holds an honor BSc in Business Sciences from Zayed University, she also holds an honor Master’s degree in Business Administration from the American University of Sharjah.The alumni panel discussion also saw the participation of many Zayed University graduates including: Hanan Ahly, Asmaa Al Nusairi, Shereen Al Nowais, and Omar Qasem, who narrated their stories of success and addressedhow they achieved excellence in their chosen fields.
