In a fit of rage local protesters in South Kashmir’s Tral town caused massive damage to light motor vehicles including bikes on Monday. The protesters also damaged the building of Jammu Kashmir Bank.Earlier Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front Chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik reached Tral to pay tributes to Hizb Commander Burhan Wani. It was Malik’s first visit to the slain militant’s house since July 8, the day when Burhan Wani along with his two associates was killed in an encounter with government forces in South Kashmir.Malik according to reports expressed sympathies with the father of Burhan Wani and visited grave yard where he along with hundreds of people offered special prayers. Reports added that Malik was taken to grave yard in the form of pro-freedom procession. After the departure of Malik from the area, sources said that people organized a procession and targeted private vehicles plying on the road. The vehicles were reportedly targeted for defying the strike call.Witnesses told CNS that more than a dozen private vehicles and bikes were damaged by the agitated youth. “Agitated youth pelted stones on the moving vehicles smashing their windowpanes. They also caused damaged to motor-cycles. Besides, Jammu Kashmir Bank building was attacked with stones and its windowpanes were smashed,” they said. (CNS)
