Flaying the Centre over public inconvenience due to demonetisation of high-denomination currency, the Delhi Congress on Saturday said it will hold 'Jan Aakrosh' protest marches here on Sunday. It also said that Congress workers will hold a demonstration outside the Prime Minister's residence here on November 23 to protest against chaotic conditions prevailing in the country after the November 8 demonetisation."The Congress workers will hold the Jan Aakrosh (public anger) marches in all 70 assembly constituencies of Delhi tomorrow (Sunday) to protest against the lack of proper preparations on part of the Narendra Modi government and the resultant inconvenience faced by the people," Congress Delhi unit chief Ajay Maken told reporters here.

"He (Modi) has not bothered to be present in Parliament to explain to parliamentarians and the people on the chaotic implementation of the demonetisation decision," the Congress leader said."India has a Prime Minister who decides first, thinks later and listens to no one," Maken said. "When glaring mistakes and bungling are noticed, anyone asking questions is branded anti-national," he added.Taking a potshot at the Centre over the death of over 50 persons allegedly connected to the demonetisation decision, the Congress leader said: "The last 10 days have seen the tragic deaths of 55 innocent individuals. What was their fault?" "These incidents expose the reality of the government's 'Tughlaqi farman' (autocratic decision)."

Demanding Modi's apology, Maken said: "Modi should unconditionally apologise not only to these 55 families but also to the entire nation."He also demanded the government pay adequate compensation to the bereaved families. "The money of the poor is being given to the rich through the (demonetisation) exercise, and it is a big scam."The Congress leader sought a JPC (Joint Parliamentary Committee) probe into the faulty implementation of the government decision.Maken said the Delhi Congress will bring out a booklet 'Note pe Charcha' before party workers and leaders march to Modi's residence on November 23.
