Terming the statement of Union Minister, Manohar Parrikar as ‘distortion of facts’ and ‘glaring example of intellectual bankruptcy’, Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik on Thursday said that people and mindset that during their own national independence struggle acted as collaborators of British colonial power and who worked as informers of oppressors can never understand freedom struggle and freedom fighters.Terming the statement of Parikar as unwise, Malik in a statement issued to KNS said that the people, who are followers of a collaborator mindset, think of everyone like them.He said that during last four months of active resistance, about one hundred innocents have been martyred by Indian forces; more than 20000 have been injured among whom more than 600 have lost their eyesight. “During these days to weaken our resistance movement more than 10 thousand people have been put behind bars and property worth millions has been damaged by Indian forces,” he said.“Majority among those martyred, injured and jailed are highly educated or students who with passion have been perusing the path of resistance against Indian occupation,” he said.
Malik said that whole nation of Kashmir including traders, businessmen, civil society, students, transporters; industrialists, daily wagers and common people have tolerated loss of billions of rupees for resistance but people who not only seem unaware of political realities of Jammu Kashmir but also seem ignorant of history are claiming that banning 500 rupee note has ended this resistance.JKLF chief said that same is the case with Prakash Javaidkar and others who are trying to undermine Kashmiri resistance by dubbing examinations of students as surgical strike against Kashmiris.Malik said that “how can one think of any good from the followers of a mindset that killed Ghandi Jee and are on daily basis abusing their own freedom leaders like Ghandhi and Nehru.”JKLF chairman said that these statements are absurd and talk of some ignorant people and our advice to all theses is to go through history of nations and resistance movements so that their ignorance is lessened to some extent.Meanwhile, JKLF has paid rich tributes to recently martyred Ghulam Muhammad khan of Illahi Bagh Srinagar who breathed his last yesterday after being admitted in Soura hospital.JKLF chairman while paying tributes to him has expressed heartfelt condolences to his bereaved family.
