Punjab today become a witness to the another historic moment when the Deputy Chief Minister, S. Sukhbir Singh Badal inaugurated a Nanhi Chhaan Rural Skill Development Center for girls in village salani with assistance of Indus Edu Train company thus heralding a new dawn in the state in terms of skill development and professional education.Addressing a mammoth gathering here, the Deputy Chief Minister said that the center opened at village salani would train girls in professional stream of Beauty and Wellness with sub-courses of senior makeup artist and hair therapist. S. Badal said that the girls passing out from the 4 months course here would be awarded certificates by the academy of renowned hair stylist Jawed Habib. He also disclosed that today 200 such centers have begun throughout the state. Disclosing more, the Deputy Chief Minister said that he visualizes opening of one such center in every block which afterwards would come around to one center after a cluster of every 10 villages. He strongly hoped that these centers would be instrumental in creating self employment avenues for the trainees. 

Divulging more, he thanked the Union Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Mr. Rajiv Pratap Rudy for giving push to the efforts of the SAD-BJP government to make Punjab a model state in the skill development sector and re-iterated that Punjab would write new success stories in this sphere. He also elaborated that 1000 more such centers are likely to be sanctioned by the Union Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.  The Deputy Chief Minister also informed that special emphasis would also be laid on training youth of the state in job oriented courses such as-Mechanic, Electrician and Plumber.S. Badal said that the kind of developmental heights SAD-BJP government has made Punjab scale cannot be matched by any other government in the country and the people centric welfare measures such as-2000 free medicine and lab testing centers, Health insurance for farmers and traders, free power worth 200 units to SC families are a clear proof of the commitment of the Punjab government to the welfare of all sections of state. He also said that in next 5 years all 12000 villages would be equipped with solar lights, sewerage and clean drinking water facilities.

On the occasion, Union Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Mr. Rajiv Pratap Rudy appreciated the efforts of the state government in making youth of the state self-sufficient by providing professional and skill education. Describing the Chief Minister, S. Parkash Singh Badal and the Deputy Chief Minister, S. Sukhbir Singh Badal as visionaries the Union Minister expressed confidence that the Punjabi youth would emerge as the most skilled in the world thanks to such initiatives.Thanking the Deputy Chief Minister and the Union Minister, Halqa Incharge Amloh Gurpreet Singh Raju Khanna said that these skill development initiatives would go a long way in making a grand success of Skill Development Mission in the state.Among others present on the occasion included Ex-MLA Didar Singh Bhatti, District President SAD Ranjit Singh Libra, District President BJP Pradeep Garg, Secretary Department of Technical Education and Industrial Training R.K. Verma, Special Principal Secretary to the Deputy Chief Minister-Manvesh Singh Sidhu, DC Kamaldeep Singh Sangha, SSP Harcharan Singh Bhullar and others.
