AAP Ludhiana West Candidate, Ahbaab Singh Grewal along with area residents of Gurdev Nagar Ward 56 Ludhiana and AAP volunteers organised an impressive Dharna protest at MC ZONE-D Office, Ludhiana against the lack of sanitation faculties in the area today. The demonstrators showing their anger raised slogans against Punjab Government and Municipal authorities.Prominent who participated in protest included Darshan Singh Shankar, Member State Media Team, of Furniture Singh Gill Zone Coordinate Lisa Wing, Varinder Jassian, Shailender Singh Barewal Zonal Vice President Youth Wing, Jagdev Kaler and Manpreet Jassian.Mr Grewal said that residents of posh locality Gurdev Nagar are facing problems of faulty sewage, which floods their houses and some of them were compelled to use toilets at the houses of their relatives in other localities.He said that the residents had been raising their voice to at various levels and submitted many representations to the MC Authorities , which fallen on deaf ears and now they have been forced to take to agitation. Mr Grewal warned that in case the MC failed to solve the problem than more strong steps will be taken to press the authorities, who were charging the sewerage tax without providing proper facility. Later a delegation lead by Mr. Grewal met Additional Commissioner MC Amrit Gill and apprised her about the seriousness of problem. He said that Mrs. Gill assured them that the work to redress the problem will definitely be started by the end of this month after completing the required procedural formalities.
