The Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Abdul Haq, today launched State Rural Livelihood Mission (SRLM) in Sanko block of Kargil district.Chairman Legislative Council, Haji Anayat Ali, Chief Executive Councilor Kargil Kachoo Ahmad Ali Khan, Vice Chairman Buildings and other Constructions Workers Welfare Board Aga Syed Bakar Rizvi, Councilor for Rural Development Aga Syed Hassan Arman, Deputy Commissioner Kargil, Director Rural Development, Mission Director SRLM, Local Councilors and other officers were present on the occasion.Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said the SRLM is pivotal for the upliftment and welfare of women to improve their socio-economic conditions. He said about 1 lakh women have benefitted under the mission.Abdul Haq asked women folk to come forward and so as to get benefits of the scheme.On the occasion, the Minister was informed that in Sanko block about 680 families have been covered under the Mission and as many as 7727 women will benefit under the programme.He also distributed Rs 35 lakh under SRLM, Rs 15 lakh under IAY and Rs 12 lakh under Swachh Bharat Mission.Earlier, the Minister laid foundation stone of sanitary complex and portable handpump at Karpukhar.
