J&K Pradesh Congress Committee held a meeting of senior office bearers and party leaders to pay glowing tributes to Late. Smt. Indira Gandhi on her 32nd death anniversary and recalled the services rendered by her to the Nation, at Congress Party Headquarters, Srinagar today.The meeting was presided over by Senior Leader and District President Abdul Gani Khan. Those who addressed and paid rich tributes to Former Prime Minister included PCC Spokesperson Farooq Andrabi, Imtiyaz Ahmad Khan, Farhat Qureshi, Mushtaq Ahmad Bazaz, Dr. Syed Ahmad, Mir Rovais, Ab. Qayoom, Ab. Ahad Tara, Gulam Nabi Mir, Block Presidents, Senior Party workers and others. Paying glowing tributes to Iron Lady Late. Indir Gandhi, Congress leaders recalled the services rendered by her for the overall development and wellbeing of the people and described her as a great visionary. They said Indira Gandhi left no stone unturned to uplift every section of the Nation irrespective of caste, colour or creed and defeated those harming the secular image of the Nation. Madam Gandhi never allowed any force to dent or harm the secular image of the Country and continued to strengthen the pluralism, secularism and unity in the Country, they said.
Terming her a strongly lady with a great acumen, Congress leaders praised the Leadership qualities of Indira Gandhi and lauded the struggle and strenuous put to bring the Nation at par with other fast developing countries in the world by her. Being a strong and honest lady, she never compromised on her principles and remained steadfast to enhance the image Nation as strongest and powerful in every respect, even she sacrificed her life for the unity and integrity of the Nation, they said.Congress Leaders while paying floral tributes to Iron Lady stated that Nation touched the new heights in Defense, Communication, Science Technology, Education etc and secured the recognition of one among the Super Power Countries of the world by the farsighted stewardship of Madam Gandhi.
The late Prime Minister remained committed to the overall development of the Nation and strengthening the people from grass roots level, all along her life time.They said Madam Gandhi remained committed to upliftment of the people, especially those living below poverty line and was also committed to provide standard education to all irrespective of their caste or religion and continued to work enthusiastically to strengthen the people from grass roots level. The Nation will remain indebted to Madam Gandhi for the sacrifices and services rendered by her.On this occasion Congress Leaders while castigating the BJP Government at Centre, stated that there were many episodes of the communal discord at some places encouraged by the RSS and BJP Leaders in recent past to serve their vested interests, even today efforts are being made to harm the secular fabric of the country for poll benefit, the time has come to defeat the divisive politics of BJP RSS, as they can go to any extent for the sake of power, they added.
