In a bid to provide assistance to the fire victims of Sukhnai village, Congress on Friday distributed Rs one crore to the affected families there.Pertinently, almost a village was gutted in a mysterious blaze in Sukhnag village of Kishtwar district on October 15 of this year.According to KNS correspondent, the Congress state chief, G A Mir and other leaders including G M Saroori and Gulzar Ahmad Wani who are on visit to the village have distributed Rs 50 thousands rupees to each affected families.“The leaders also provided other basic facilities like blankets and other things to the fire victims of the village,” local sources.They informed that at least thirty thousand rupees were distributed to each affected family of the village from the funds of Gh Nabi Azad.
However, locals of the village hailed the effort of Congress to reach out to them and asked the leaders to provide any possible assistance to them so that they could raise their houses again.Pertinently, on October 15, at least 124 houses were reduced to ashes, 80 cow sheds, one middle school, two medical shops, two water mills, three provisional stores, two Anganwari centre, one health sub centre, beside a mosque and a shrine got damaged in the devastating fire.
