As many as 569 works completed and generating 1,25,676 lakh man-days under MGNREGA and 82 houses constructed under Indira Awas Yogana (IAY) during the current financial year so far in Chrari-e-Sharief Constituency. The information was given in a meeting chaired by the Minister for Agriculture Production, Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura, at his official residence here today.The meeting was convened to discuss and review the pace of progress of developmental works undertaken by the Rural Development Department (RDD) in the Chrari-e-Sharief constituency.The meeting was informed that an amount of Rs. 10.04 crore has been incurred under MGNREGA so far and 59,390 job cards issued in the constituency. It was also given out that out of the released funds to the tune of Rs. 96.65 lakh, Rs. 68.65 lakh were incurred during the year 2016-17 under the IAY so far.Under the Swachh Bharat Mission, 3,600 individual household latrines and 5 Solid Liquid Waste Management plants are to be constructed in the Chrare-i-Sharief constituency during the current year, the meeting was told.Detailed discussions were also held on the 13th FCA and convergence works. The Minister directed the concerned to prepare estimates for a footbridge at Badipora and start construction work on it immediately.

The Minister asked the District Administration Budgam to work with utmost dedication and give focused attention for completion of all developmental projects under execution in the district. He exhorted the officers to put in their sincere and dedicated efforts for effective implementation of various government-sponsored schemes and prioritizing issues of public interest so that tangible results are realized on ground level.Mr. Hanjura asked the district administration to be vibrant and proactive in resolving the people’s problem.The Minister also asked the officers to conceive developmental projects in such a way that the same are completed within the set time-frame to avoid cost overrun. Mr. Hanjura impressed upon the officers of the RDD to ensure timely completion of all the ongoing developmental projects in the Chrari-e-Sharief constituency.Reiterating the commitment of the present coalition government headed by Chief Minister Ms. Mehbooba Mufti to provide improved and better amenities to the people of the State, the Minister said that adequate funds have been released under various sectors, including RDD, but there is need to utilize them in full and judiciously.Earlier, the District Development Commissioner, Budgam, Mir Altaf Ahmad, briefed the meeting about the pace of progress of works taken under RDD in the district. Senior Officers of the RDD were also present in the meeting.
