With over 100 people brutally killed, hundreds blinded and maimed, thousands injured large number of people arrested illegally, entire leadership curbed and all imaginable atrocities continuously being committed, 2016 stands witness to the continuous saga of subjugation through militarization of the people of Kashmir over 70 years. 27th October is a "black day" for the people of J&K, as it is on this day in 1947 that the Indian Armed forces landed in Kashmir. Hurriyat (M) chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq said that these past 70 years we have been relentlessly struggling to free ourselves from this brutal occupation. Inspite of the gigantic Indian state power that has been controlling us, our resolve remains steadfast; we will continue our struggle for freedom, justice and dignity.
Mirwaiz strongly Condemned and expressed his concern over the setting on fire of schools in some localities by unidentified persons during night time. He said time and again mischievous attempts are made to malign the movement and to dishearten people.Mirwaiz urged people to be cautious and vigilant of these elements who are bent upon defaming our movement.Meanwhile, Hurriyat (M) spokesman said that Mirwaiz was once again put under house arrest today afternoon and visitors were not allowed to meet him.The spokesman condemned the government forces for unleashing brutal aggression on women participating in peaceful protest marches on the call of the unified resistance leadership, resulting in critical injuries to dozens of them and termed the nocturnal raids, arrests, ransacking of household items and harassment of inmates in Sopore, Islamabad and Baghi Mehtab area of Srinagar as unacceptable and added that the government could not cow down people into submission with these inhuman tactics.
