Complimenting the Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal for taking keen interest in giving a face-lift to holy city of Amritsar, the Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal today said that the Inauguration of new projects would be further instrumental in boosting tourism in the holy city.Interacting with the media persons after inaugurating the entrance gate here today, the Chief Minister, accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister and Union Food Processing Minister Mrs. Harsimrat Kaur Badal, said that Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal has ably performed the duty bestowed upon by Almighty to serve this holy city. Mr. Badal said that new entrance gate and Golden Temple plaza has given a new look to the city while maintaining its age old traditional look. He said that these projects have added zing to the holy city and would be instrumental in giving a major fillip to tourism sector in the city.Replying to another query, the Chief Minister said that the state government was fully sensitized towards maintaining these projects along with other state of the art memorials which have been either inaugurated or were in the final stage of completion. He said that the state government has already constituted a high power committee to ensure proper upkeep of these memorials. Mr. Badal said that this committee would leave no stone unturned for ensuring proper maintenance of these projects adding that the state government has already kept the required funds at their disposal.
On another query, the Chief Minister said that he was highly indebted to each and every person who has in any way contributed in the completion of these projects. Mr. Badal said that every individual who has been associated with these projects in any way. “I acknowledge the valuable contribution of every individual who has been part and parcel of these projects in one way or other”, he added.The Chief Minister was accompanied by Union Minister for State and BJP State Unit Chief Mr. Vijay Sampla, Cabinet Minister Jathedar Ajit Singh Kohar, Chairman Punjab Agro Jathedar Dyal Singh Kolianwali, SAD leader Jathedar Avtar Singh Vanwalla, Special Principal Secretaries to Deputy Chief Minister Mr. PS Aujla and Mr. Rahul Tiwari, Commissioner of Police Mr. Lok Nath Aangra, Joint Special Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Mr. Kumar Amit and Deputy Commissioner Mr. Varun Roozam.
