Several deputations call on Mehbooba Mufti

Several deputations called on the Chief Minister, Ms Mehbooba Mufti, at her official residence here and presented memoranda of demands.A deputation of All District Gurdwara Joint Action Committee, an amalgam of elected committees, led by its Chairman Janak Singh Sodhi called on the Chief Minister and presented before her various issues pertaining to the welfare of the Sikh community in the State. They also requested for creating opportunities of employment for educated and skilled youth of the community among various other issues of welfare and development.Another deputation of Gujjar and Bakerwal community called on the Chief Minister comprising representatives of the community from different areas of the State, led by Chaudhary Salaam Din and apprised her on matters relating to the development and welfare of the community. They highlighted the backwardness of the community and underlined the need for special focus to address the problems pertaining to the Gujjars and Bakerwals in the State.The Chief Minister gave patient hearing and assured equitable development of all sections of the society. She said the Government shall ensure welfare and development of the community through various schemes under the Tribal Plan and other welfare schemes.

Another deputation from Assembly Segment Shangus lead by Vice Chairman, Jammu & Kashmir Khadi and Village Industries Board, Peerzada Mansoor Hussain also called on the Chief Minister and brought to her notice their grievances, demands and developmental issues of the area. In their interaction with the Chief Minister they apprised her about matters relating to various issues pertaining to the general development and issues concerning healthcare, road connectivity and their individual and collective problems and grievances.The Chief Minister assured the deputations that their genuine demands would be given due consideration by the Government. She said the government is alive to the public demands and necessary measures are already afoot to upgrade basic amenities and ensure prompt public service delivery. Ms Mehbooba said wherever necessary additional focus would be concentrated to address the people’s demands.
