Maintaining that a holistic view will be taken regarding the conduct of board examinations, Chief Minister, Ms Mehbooba Mufti today said the Government will have to ensure that the students don’t lose academic year.“The Government will explore various options in consultation with the Education Department and the State Board of School Education (BOSE) to ensure that the students appearing in various Board examinations have more options and their academic year is not lost,” the Chief Minister said while interacting with a group of girl students who called on her here today.Urging the parents to help the government in normalizing the situation keeping in mind the future of their children, the Chief Minister said the Government will make arrangements for special tuitions for students in government schools wherever possible so that they can prepare for the examinations. “We will also consider reducing the syllabus,” she said and added that the students will have more options in terms of questions and answer, as they have not been able to complete the studies due to the prevailing situation in Kashmir.

Enlisting the measures taken by her government for the betterment of the womenfolk and girl students in the state, the Chief Minister said; “My government's focus has been to provide more facilities to the women and girls. We kept a provision of scooty scheme in the budget for those girls who cannot afford autorickshaws. We are giving 50 percent subsidy for these girl students for buying scooty. It will help in education of girl child coming from economically weaker sections.”The Chief Minister said the government has launched this scheme in Jammu and more scooties will be handed out to girl students in coming days. “However, we have not been able to do it in Kashmir yet due to the ongoing situation. It is good that girls are demanding this facility here also,” she said. The Chief Minister said that the Government has also started separate buses, police stations and launched Laadli scheme for the women.
