Punjab Education Minister Daljit Singh Cheema who is also the chairperson of the Sub- Committee of Central Advisory Board (CAB) especially formed to bring about reforms in the Government Schools, today called on Mr. Parkash Jawedkar, Union Human Resource Minister at Shashtri Bhawan, New Delhi.Earlier in the day Mr. Cheema presided over the meeting of the CAB Sub-Committee held at Punjab Bhawan. Dr. Cheema apprised the Uniion Minister about the progress achieved by the CAB Sub-Committee in the direction.He said that the Sub-Committee would complete the report within coming two or three days and the report in written format would be submitted to the Union Minister on October 19.He said that the sub-committee opined that the report must be submitted to the Union Ministry before the scheduled meeting of CAB on October 25, so that the recommendations given in the report could be discussed at length in the CAB meeting.
Spokesperson said that Mr. Cheema today presided over the 7th meeting of the CAB Sub-Committee at Punjab Bhawan, New Delhi. During the meeting the suggestion put forth in the previous meeting were also deliberate upon. Lengthy discussions were held on the report which is almost final and certain suggestions were also given about it. Chairperson Dr. Cheema advised to incorporate the suggestions and amendments in the final report.Prominent amongst those who were present in the meeting included Joint Secretary, Ministry of Human Resource Development (HRD) –cum-Member Secretary of the committee Manish Garg, Dr. D.
