AIP Supremo and MLA Langate Er Rasheed has appealed war mongers debating in TV studios to visit the population residing at cease fire line in border areas and then find it whether what is being discussed in cozy rooms, is possible to be executed on ground. According to a statement issued to KNS, on the second day of his tour to border areas of district Kupwara, Er Rasheed amid high tension at LoC visited the dozens of villages including Seemari, the last frontier village of Karnah and talked to locals about their sufferings created due to tension at borders between India and Pakistan. Besides Seemari Er Rasheed visited many villages situated right at LoC including Teethwal, Hajitra, Taad, Sadpora, Chatkadi and Dhani. After assessing the hardships being faced by the masses and interacting with people of various cross sections of society, Er Rasheed in a statement said that when GoI and army has to speak about size and greatness of India, they often begin with saying ‘from Seemari to Kanyakumari India is one’ but may one ask if India truly believes so, then why ill fated people of Seemari are yet living in the stone age and even miracles can’t help them in attaining even an iota of development that has taken place in Kanyakumari and elsewhere in India.

Er Rasheed said, “Thousands of inhabitants in border areas are living in constant fear and are apprehensive of any eventuality at LoC.State government has turned a complete blind eye towards the population in Karnah, Keran and other places and has not yet initiated any step for providing even concrete bunkers to the inhabitants. It has added to the fear psychosis and people don’t even dare to come out of their houses. Civil administration seems to have gone on a long leave and has left the whole population at the mercy of guns and tanks of both sides. The roads are in shambles and it would not have been a big job for the government to macadamise these roads and to provide few basic immunities to the population. The scale of ration being provided is a big cause of concern for the inhabitants, as in absentia of paddy and other agriculture land, government ration is the only source to get the food grains.” Er Rasheed asked the political and civil administration to sincerely compare the facilities being provided to population on this side, with those being provided by Azad Kashmir government to population on that side and said it will not take them a second to conclude that those on the opposite side of LoC are well off by all standards. He also appealed army brasses to ensure that the caged population of Chat-kadi, Amrohi, Dhani and Sadpora are allowed to move freely out of their fenced areas round the clock, as the current practice has been to allow movement only till late afternoon at fixed entry and exit points in their respective villages.
