DC Anantnag, Mission Director review performance of ICDS Project

A review meeting of ICDS project Anantnag was today held at Dak Bunglow Khanabal under the Chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner, Anantnag, Dr Syed Abid Rasheed Shah. Mission Director ICDS, Mr. Talat Parvaiz co-chaired the meeting.It was given out in the meeting that 54625 children in the age group of six months to six years, 10925 lactating mothers and 10925 nursing mothers were registered in 2231 Anganwadi centres functioning in the district and were provided nutrition and other benefits under different schemes.It was also revealed that under the Central flagship Programme, “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao” scheme, a total of 504 beneficiaries belonging to lower income groups were provided a total financial assistance of 30 lakh till date.The Deputy Commissioner stressed upon the officers of Health, Education, Panchayat and Rural Development departments to coordinate and ensure effective convergence of the schemes presently run by the ICDS project Anantnag so that benefits of various schemes are provided to the identified beneficiaries. 

The Director stressed upon the CDPOs and Anganwadi Supervisors, to get Anganwadi staff and the beneficiaries linked with Aadhaar so that Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) is achieved with least human intervention.  He said that photographs of the child beneficiaries should be linked with the Aadhaar numbers of their parents and the process should be completed up to March 2017. He also sought cooperation from the RDD department for construction of Anganwadi centres under convergence mode for which an amount of Rs 20 lakh has already been released. The Director assured that funds to a tune of Rs 2 Crore will be provided for construction of 200 centers in the district. He said that two model Anganwadi centers would be set up at Zadipora, Khanabal and Anchidora Anantnag.
