CORBU FEST 2016 Concludes With Remembering & Analyzing The Architecture Works Of Le Corbusier

Student House “Walter Gropius” was awarded the overall trophy on the concluding day of the 2-day Corbu Fest 2016 organized by University Institute of Architecture at Chandigarh University, Gharuan. Chief Architect, Punjab, Sapna Bhatnagar presided the valedictory function which was marked with awarding the winning teams of the technical and cultural events during the Corbu Fest 2016. Team comprising of architect students Simranjeet, Surbhi Sinha, Ravneet and Somnath bagged 1st position in Graffiti Competition while team Arunabh, Divnoor, Shreyansh and Mehak were runner-up in the event. Komal Thakur bagged 1st prize in the 3 D Installation of Projects while Amandeep Singh bagged 1st position in the painting competition.  Team comprising of 1st year students Lakshay, Sumit, Digajay and Praveen won the AD Making event while Kartik & Anjali bagged 1st position in the Mural Design competition. In a closely contested competition, Amandeep Singh was placed 1st in the 3 D Painting Competition. 

The highlight of the day was Fashion Show presented by the students of University Institute of Architecture where innovative architect designs and sculptors were presented in the form of dresses adorned by the models walking down the ramp. While addressing the students, Architect Sapna Bhatnagar said, “Students of architect should study and follow the latest trends and technology being incorporated in the field of Architecture, Designing and planning”. Sapna Bhatnagar advised the students to closely analyze the works of French Architecture, Le Corbusier who is known to be father of Modern Architecture all over the world. Dr. R.S.Bawa, Vice-Chancellor, Chandigarh University congratulated the winning students and welcomed the architect students to contribute in developing the campus taking clue from the designs of Le-Corbusier so that a glimpse of City Beautiful is visible at the university campus.
