As part of the programmes scheduled in the district under the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) activities, Kabaddi competitions were held across the district .The main Kabaddi competition was organised at HSS Ramban which was inaugurated by District Development Commissioner Ramban, Mohammad Aijaz who is also District Election Officer.Speaking on the occasion, DDC said that various events are being organised with an aim to sensitize the people mainly the eligible voters about the importance of their right to vote. He exhorted upon all individuals who are 18 years of age or above as on first January 2017 to get their names enrolled in the electoral roll along with two coloured photographs for getting Electoral Photo Identity Card (EPIC).
In the final match GHSS Ramban defeated Government High School (GHS) Parnot by scoring 67 point against 32 while a local team registered win over students of HSS Rajgarh in a match played at Rajgarh by scoring 74 points .Similarly match was also played between Gool Royals and HSS School at Gool in which latter was declared the winner.Meanwhile at Ramban, DDC also flagged off an awareness rally from GHSS Ramban as part of Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan in which large numbers of students drawn from various schools took part. ACR, Vevaik Puri, CEO, Mohammad Sharif, DYSSO, Jarpal Singh, Tehsildar, S. Gurpreet Singh, Teachers and other staff members were present on the occasion.
