Punjab Revenue minister and Youth Akali Dal (YAD) patron Bikram Singh Majithia today while lauding Prime Minister Narendra Modi for giving a befitting reply to Pak sponsored terrorism, urged the centre to support farmers of the border areas of Punjab at this critical juncture. He also Punjab Congress president Capt Amarinder Singh for politicising the national security of the country through his petty statements.Presiding over a massive youth gathering here after leading a youth cavalcade from Serainaga village to this town, Mr Majithia said Punjabis had been vacated from the border areas after a directive from the central government. He said all attempts were being made to ensure they did not suffer due to any eventuality.  The YAD patron appreciated the efforts of the Prime Minister and the support extended by him to the Indian Army. He said it was for the first time ever that such a befitting reply had been given to Pakistan for sponsoring terrorism in India. The Akali leader said even as Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal visited all border districts of Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Ferozepur and Fazilka and interacted with the residents, Capt Amarinder Singh was conspicuous by his absence. He said what of coming to the border to show solidarity with displaced farmers, Amarinder was yet to visit his own constituency Amritsar.

Mr Majithia said this was not all. Amarinder was undermining the national interest by issuing loose statements. He said it seemed the Maharaja's script writers had forgotten to inform him that even Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi had appreciated Prime Minister Narendra Modi's stand against terrorism. "He could very well have consulted Rahul Gandhi before coming out with statements which undermine the national morale", Mr Majithia added.Mr Majithia said on his way to the rally venue, he saw a hoarding of PPCC President Capt Amarinder Singh’s “Halke Vich Captain” campaign. He said when Capt Amarinder was the Chief Minister (from 2002-07), he maintained distance from the public. He said even after winning the Lok Sabha elections from Amritsar, Amarinder stayed away from his voters as well as the Lok Sabha where he even failed to fulfil his constitutional duties as deputy leader of the Lok Sabha attending only eleven out of 231 sittings. He said that on the other hand, both CM Mr Parkash Singh Badal as well as Deputy CM Mr Sukhbir Singh Badal regularly interact with people like commoners. He said that Amarinder is mostly busy partying with his female friends either in hill stations or in foreign countries and even today, when the Vidhan Sabha elections are near, Capt Amarinder is maintaining his track record, he quipped. Mr Majithia said that even though Capt Amarinder is holding a series of flop shows named “Halke Vich Captain”, but after a resounding third consecutive defeat in the upcoming Vidhan Sabha elections, he will be known more as “Halka” Captain due to his non-seriousness about issues of Punjab.

Taking an aim at Congress leader who were framing the party's manifesto, he said the same leaders had publicly opposed the subsidies to poor and needy.  He said that how can people expect sucj leaders to draft a manifesto for the welfare of the people especially when they were on record to be against extending the free power subsidy to farmers besides other subsidies being given to scheduled caste, backward caste, economically weaker sections and the trading community of the State.Mr Majithia said that 3 C’s- Characterless, Criminal and Corrupt, are synonymous with the Aam Aadmi Party and its leaders. He said the AAP leaders claim that at the time when a leader joins their party, they look at his 3 C’s. He said that now it’s a well known fact the AAP leaders are best suited for these 3 C’s as they are characterless, criminals as well as corrupt. He gave the example of how all good people including Anna Hazara and Prashant Bhushan had been hounded out of AAP earlier and how recently action was taken against Col Sehrawat for exposing the exploitation of women by AAP leaders.

Mr Majithia also gave a clarion call to the Youth of the state for scripting a victory to the SAD-BJP combine for the third consecutive time. He urged them to remain alert from the false propaganda of the opposition parties and just concentrate on the development oriented agenda of the Punjab government. The road show as well as the rally was attended by thousands of youth from Sri Muktsar Sahib District, who reposed full faith in the Shiromani Akali Dal-Bharatiya Janta Party combine.Prominent among those present on the occasion included Irrigation Minister Mr Sharanjit Singh Dhillon, OSD to Deputy CM Mr Parminder Singh Brar, OSD to Deputy CM Mr Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Youth Akali Dal Malwa Zone-1 President Mr Kanwarjit Singh “Rozy” Barkandi, MLA Mr Harpreet Singh Kot Bhai, District Planning Board Chairman Mr Hardeep Singh Dimpy Dhillon, besides several others.
