As part of ongoing Swachhta Pakhwada, district administrative Samba today launched a special cleanliness drive at District Development Commissioner complex.The driver was launched by Deputy Commissioner Sheetal Nanda, while all the district officers and subordinate staff actively participated in cleaning up the complex area. The DDC emphasised upon the responsibility of every individual in taking ownership of their surroundings and keeping them clean.Later, the DDC also interacted with Media and briefed them about the activities being taken up during the Swachhta Pakhwada. They were informed one work under 14th Finance Commission will be started on October 4 in every panchayat of the District. Painting/slogan writing competitions at school level and drives for cleaning up of water bodies, Angwanwadi centres, SD Hospitals, Market Places, schools and water bodies would be held on specific dates. The DDC called upon the media to project these activities to generate greater participation of general public.Replying to media queries, the DDC informed that project site for Garbage Disposal Plant has been identified in the District and it will be handed over to the concerned department in due course of time.ADC Pawan Sharma, ACD Tilak Raj, PO IWMP Pardeep Manhas,DPO Aijaj Qaiser and other district level officials participated in the drive.
