Yet again in a shameful manner Kashmiri students studying outside state were thrashed and intimidated on the pretext of ‘pseudo nationalistic’ passion by goons in Haryana. The incident occurred at Ganga Institute of Technology and Management located in Kablana Jhajjar area of North India state Haryana.A group of students who talked one by one to news agency CNS said that ever since the start of uprising in Kashmir Valley, the Indian students even the staff of the college label them as ‘terrorists’ and always find ways and means to harass and intimidate them. The students said that during an argument some students mostly from Bihar labeled them as terrorists after which they thrashed some of the Kashmiri students. “The irony is that the security guards of the college backed and supported them in their illegal act.

Without listening to the version of Kashmiri students, the Warden acted like a goon and beat us again,” they said. The Kashmiri students added that another student was roughed up in the mess of the college and he suffered eye injuries.Despite repeated attempts, the college authorities could not be contacted. The thrashing of Kashmiri students outside state colleges is a common phenomenon and in past many students were either beaten up or expelled from the colleges and universities for exhibiting ‘anti-national’ behavior. The incidents including physical violence and intimidation of Kashmiri students continued even though Indian Home Rajnath Singh recently during his Kashmir had assured that Government of India will set a help line for Kashmiri students to ensure that no student faces harassment.
