District Development Commissioner Showkat Aijaz Bhat today took a meeting to review the pace of progress on ongoing Development Projects and the progress achieved under different schemes of  2016-17 financial year here in Kulgam.The meeting was attended by all the Sectoral officers and engineers of different departments including JKPCC.The meeting was informed that the district which had an approved outlay of Rs. 123.64 crore for which an expenditure of Rs. 23.62 crore had been made by the end of August 2016 against an availability of Rs. 32.74 crore The District Development commissioner impressed upon the officers to expedite the pace of progress on development projects so that the physical and financial targets would be achieved well in time by the end of third quarter of this financial year.Deputy Commissioner reviewed sector wise work projects including the departments of JKPCC, R&B, Health, Education ,PHE, Police Housing Board/Corporation and the Rural Development Department.On the occasion the Deputy Commissioner instructed the Additional Deputy Commissioner to identify the land for Multipurpose Community hall within ten days which is coming up in Kulgam town at an estimated cost Rs 3.00 Crore for social functions.The Deputy Commissioner was apprised by the officers of different departments about the progress of work on the decisions taken in the previous Board meeting.It is pertinent to mention here that Deputy Commissioner enjoined upon the engineers to speed up the pace of work on ongoing development projects which include IPD Block of District Hospital, Labripora–Laroo bypass Road, Modal Residential School Tangmarg and Finance Complex at Kulgam.
