Speaker, J&K Legislative Assembly Kavinder Gupta today inaugurated an Aadhaar camp as part of Government’s ongoing drive to facilitate enrollment of maximum population for Aadhaar card.The camp was organized at Government Girls Higher Secondary School Satwari Cantt which saw youngsters and elders alike, turning up in large numbers.Kavinder Gupta, while interacting with the people, enquired about functioning of the camp and about cooperation being extended by the departments and officials. He assured the people that every support will be extended to ensure that no individual has to suffer unnecessarily due to the lack of this necessary unique identification document.Remarking on the positive response being observed at the special localized Aadhaar enrollment camps, the speaker said that the success of the camps means that a lot of people are benefitting from this initiative. He hoped that with the upcoming camps, maximum people will avail the benefits from this initiative.
Later, the Speaker along with MLA Jammu East Rajesh Gupta also inaugurated a medical/heart check up camp at Healthy Heart Clinic, Trikuta Nagar.More than 200 people were examined in the camp and provided free cardiac consultation, free basic tests like blood pressure, blood sugar, lipid profile, ECG and ambulatory BP measurement. In addition, free medicines were also provided to the patients.Meanwhile, Kavinder Gupta kick started blacktopping of roads in Ward No 2, Bhore Camp area. The project is being undertaken by the PWD with an estimated cost of Rs. 3.5 lakh.Speaker said that the project will fulfill a long standing demand of the people of the area. He informed the people that a detailed phase by phase repair and restoration work for roads is being taken up which aims to cover the entire Bhore Camp and all surrounding areas. He directed the executing agency to ensure quality of work and expeditious completion of the work.
