Lashing out at PDP-BJP for communalizing and polarizing Jammu and Kashmir in a bid to divert attention from the failure of government on all fronts, Provincial President Devender Singh Rana on Monday asserted that National Conference will defeat all attempts of RSSisation of the state. In a statement issued to KNS, Rana while leading a peace mission of senior party leaders to the trouble torn township, said, “We are at crossroads of history wherein PDP has become flag-bearer of the BJP in RSSisation of Jammu and Kashmir and plunging it into communal frenzy.”He described the recent unfortunate incidents at Rajouri as part of the sinister mission of BJP to create disharmony between various communities and complimented the sagacious people of the border township for defeating PDP-BJP machinations by seeing through the game-plan and maintaining unity and amity.

He said these incidents should not be viewed in isolation, as there seems to be a definite pattern to divert the attention from unabated and continued Kashmir disaster that has led to human sufferings of highest magnitude.State Vice Presidents Mushtaq Ahmed Shah Bukhari, Rattan Lal Gupta and Kashmira Singh, State Secretary Rachpal Singh, Provincial Youth National Conference President Ajaz Jan, former MP Mirza Abdul Rashid, Ch. Liaqat Ali, former minister Babu Rampal, Bashir Ahmed Wani, Abdul Ghani Telli, Aslam Khan, Showkat Mir, Bhushan, Vijay Lochan, Ch.Haroon, Abdul Majid Telli, Vipan Paul, Shafiyat Khan, Dharampaul, Bashir Magrey, Syead Jatt, Mushtaq Shawl and others were accompanying the Provincial President.Rana said that circumstantial evidence and preliminary reports suggest definite involvement of dejected political forces in these incidents, who want to retain the power by creating mistrust among the people.

This, he said, is a piquant scenario, which speaks volumes about the ruthlessness and extent the two coalition partners could go in pursuit and lust of power. “Peoples’ welfare and security is their last priority”, Rana said while lashing out the duo for plunging Jammu and Kashmir into a morass, exit from which appears to be rather difficult. He sought adequate compensation for those who suffered at the hands of rampaging mobs. Rana decried insensitivity of the coalition government vis-a-vis sensitivities of the people and referred to unheard of restrictions imposed on the auspicious festival, saying the hurt caused to all right thinking people of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh, irrespective of caste, creed and colour will take a long time to heal. Added to this huge insult is the brazenness with which the government is justifying such acts, he regretted.

The Provincial President also expressed concern over the obtaining scenario in the State, especially in the wake or Uri terror attack, saying while internal disturbances seem to be unending; the external dimensions are all the more alarming. “History stands testimony to the fact that whenever hostilities between India and Pakistan touched the boiling point with border skirmishes becoming inevitable, the main brunt falls on the people of Jammu and Kashmir”, he said.Speaking on the occasion, Mushtaq Ahmed Bukhari said that Jammu and Kashmir has braved many challenges in the past, and there seems to be no reason why we won’t succeed now and in future to foil the divisive agenda of the vested interests, like the PDP-BJP combine. He said National Conference will offer any sacrifice for maintaining inclusiveness of the State.Rattan Lal Gupta made a passionate appeal for maintaining peace and tranquility, saying this is the biggest weapon to fight divisive and communal politics. He lauded the valour of people in foiling attempts of communal forces by maintaining unity.

Kashmira Singh, while addressing the people said that PDP-BJP are attempting to create a wedge by breaking time-tested harmony but the people are committed to defeat them by further strengthening their bonding Rachpal Singh complimented the people for not falling into the trap laid desperate elements and said the restraint exercised residents of this sensitive township has averted a big catastrophe that could have left indelible scars on the traditional amity.Ajaz Jan while expressing concern over sinister attempts of PDP-BJP to create division in the society urged the people to maintain and sustain this spirit of inclusiveness.Jan said a major responsibility is cast on National conference cadre which has all along remained a torch bearer of amity and brotherhood.Lauding the peace and amity maintained by the people, Babu Rampaul said the people of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh will collectively fight the divisive agenda of PDP-BJP and maintain the amity for which the state is known across the country.Former MP Mirza Rashid, Mr Abdul Gani Teli, Ch Liaqat, Mr Bashir Ahmed Wani, Vijay Lochan, Ch Shaffayat Khan, Ch Haroon, Mr Vipin Paul and others also made a fervent appeal to the people for maintaining peace and tranquillity.
