Expressing strong condemnation over the imposition of restrictions, declared and undeclared curfew for the 72nd continuous day, oppressive and suppressive tactics adopted by the government forces resulting in grave human rights violations and killings of civilians across Kashmir valley and Chenab valley, a spokesman of the Hurriyat (M) Sunday said government forces had created havoc in Wusan Kangan, Theed Harwan, Bandipora and Srinagar’s areas of Nowhatta, Nawab Bazaar, Nalamar Road and Safa Kadal since Saturday evening with the forces entering into residential houses, beating up inmates and ransacking household belongings. In a statement issued to KNS, the Hurriyat (M) spokesman said that dozens of youth had been injured in indiscriminate pellet firing on Saturday and the government forces surpassed all records of barbarism when they first fired pellets and critically injured a mentally challenged youth, Showkat Ahmad Misgar and then fired pellets on those who were trying to take him to the hospital for treatment.

Deploring such inhumanity, the spokesman said these tactics will not let the people of Jammu Kashmir give up their right to self determination.Expressing concern and condemnation over the mischievous activities of communal forces in Chenab valley, especially during the Eid Ul Adha festival and thereafter, as a consequence of which curfew continues to be imposed there, the spokesman said such forces were deliberately targeting and harassing Muslims in the region. The spokesman said that the brave Muslims of the region have never succumbed to the machinations of these elements and continue to protest against the atrocities perpetuated on them.He added that the people of the valley were, are and will always support their fellow Kashmiris in resisting injustice and fighting for their rights.
